EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Heritage Trails Park District

The Heritage Trails Park District of Auglaize County is seeking a full time Executive Director. This newly created position will provide the successful applicant an exciting opportunity to grow with a dynamic park district reaching for its potential.

The position will answer to the HTPD Board of Commissioners and will manage internal staff and external vendors.

Some of the job duties include:

• Overseeing all aspects of the Park District. Making recommendations to the Board on policy, personnel, acquisition, park development and operations.

 • Planning and implementing acquisition and development of park lands and park maintenance.

 • Planning and implementing Park District programming, public relations, and community outreach.

 • Grant writing for park land acquisition, development, and use.

 • Preparing and submitting annual budgets for the Park District and accounting for all expenditures. Authorizing expenditures and certifying payment for such expenditures in the manner prescribed by state law and park district policy.

Preferred qualifications include:

• A self-starting, motivated person who enjoys leading others to continuously improve.

• College degree in Park Management, Natural Resources Administration or related degrees.

•  A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A working knowledge of government financial and budgeting systems.

• Resourcefulness in learning and applying the skills needed to move the park district forward.
